Nurturing Vocations
to the Priesthood and Religious Life
We
share in the responsibility of all members of the Church to encourage and
support vocations to ensure that God's work will continue. Our Novitiate
and House of Studies is located in Fairfield, PA within a few miles of Mt.
St. Mary's Seminary in Emmitsburg, MD where our seminarians study.
Other formation houses are located in Italy, Slovakia, India and the
Philippines
for our vocations in those countries.
Hispanic
Apostolate
 Since
1953, the Missionaries of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary have staffed
a Hispanic National Parish in the city of Camden, New Jersey. Their vigorous
apostolate for Hispanic youth in the Jornada and their long association
with the Cursillo movement in the Diocese have established the congregation
as a resource for meeting the needs of the Hispanic community.
Ministering
to the Needs of the Aged and Infirm
Among
the aged and infirm are many who are alone or abandoned. Following the
direction of our Founder, we serve in those capacities where we can
reassure them of God's love through our pastoral ministries in nursing home
and assisted living facilities chaplaincies.
Spiritual Direction
 Our
facilities in Linwood, New Jersey also serve as a spiritual life center,
giving us the opportunity to welcome local groups seeking a Day of Recollection
or spiritual enrichment. Through our mail apostolate, thousands participate
in special devotions through the year honoring the Hearts of Jesus and
Mary. In Italy, India and Argentina, lay groups are instructed in the charism of our Founder and mission of our congregation and how it can
impact their personal faith life.
