As
I looked over all the articles for this newsletter one word, "Thanksgiving"
kept repeating itself to me. Surely we have much to thank
our heavenly Father for…new vocations, the beatification decree
for our Founder, the outpouring of devotion to our beloved Sacred
Hearts by dear friends and benefactors….so many, many blessings!
So many of us, myself included, often get bogged down thinking only
of needs and wants. It is easy to forget how blessed we are each
day by our most gracious Creator. This was brought home to me in
a very special way recently when I learned of a friend who had completely
lost his hearing for several months this summer due to a rare infection.
His wife was reduced to writing every word they exchanged. As
they related their exhaustion and frustration, I was reminded again
of how very much we take God's blessings for granted…that is, until
they are gone. And as I go over the many blessings apparent
in these newsletter stories, my prayer of thanksgiving is uttered
again. I am truly aware and grateful for God's providence but also
for the many prayers of support and encouragement you, our dear
friends, give so graciously. Thank you and God bless you!
God bless you and keep you always,
Father Anthony, M.SS.CC.
