Most Reverend Nicholas DiMarzio, Bishop of the Diocese
of Camden, NJ presided at the dedication of Our Lady of Sorrows Prayer
Garden at the Linwood Parish staffed by the Missionaries of the Sacred
Hearts. Holy Mass, concelebrated with the Bishop and Fr. Malcolm MacLeod,
Pastor, procession with the Blessed Sacrament and the blessing of
the garden, with its memorial to the victims of September 11, highlighted
the day long celebration of the Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows on Sunday,
September 15. A parish picnic followed attended by parishioners
and many from surrounding parishes who participate in the Perpetual
Eucharistic Adoration program at the parish. |

Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio dedicates Our Lady’s Garden.
The garden features seven separate plantings in honor of the seven
sorrows of Mary….each a memorial donated by parishioners in honor
of a loved one. The winding pathway features memorial “ bricks”
engraved with names of deceased family members or in honor of a
special occasion. The center point of the garden is a statue
of Our Lady of Sorrows and the memorial marker for the victims of
September 11. |
