In June Robert Malagesi and Frank Myers will begin a year of Novitaite with our congregation. Robert, a former paralegal and native of the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area has lived the past year with the Fairfield Community as a postulant attending classes at Mt. St. Mary’s Seminary. Frank has also been a postulant for a year while continuing has 26 year career as a middle school teacher in Southern New Jersey. Frank, too, is a native of the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area. Following a period of postulancy, candidates enter a year of Novitiate. During this year they live in residence with the community and do not carry an academic program. Rather this is a time of immersing themselves in community life, discerning and reflecting on the commitment of professing vows. At the end of this period, a novice requests that he be allowed to profess first vows. |
