On
Saturday, June 24, Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, His
Excellency, Edwin O’Brien, presided
at the priestly ordination of Fr. Peter DiTomasso, M.SS.CC. at Our
Lady of Sorrows Church in Linwood, NJ.
Fr. DiTomasso, a Brooklyn, New York native, graduated from St.
Francis College in 2000. He
obtained a Master’s Degree in Theology from St. John’s University in
New York in 2001, and a Master’s in Divinity from Mt. St. Mary’s
Seminary, Emmitsburg, PA in 2004.
He entered the Missionaries of the Sacred Hearts congregation in
2001 and was perpetually professed in October 2005.
During his Diaconate, Fr. Peter joined the Pastoral Care Team
at Holy Spirit Hospital in Camp Hill PA.

Archbishop O’Brien asks for Fr. Peter’s
first blessing as an
ordained priest.
During the ordination ceremony Archbishop O’Brien spoke of the joy
of giving one’s life in service to others, assuring Fr. Peter that
the Holy Spirit would be with him in that service making it the
fulfillment of his priestly life.
The next Day, Sunday, June 25, Fr. Peter celebrated his first Mass
at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Brooklyn New York.
Presently, Fr. Peter is assigned to Villa Pieta in Linwood
and assists with pastoral ministry there and at Our Lady of Sorrows
Parish.
