the work of finding vocations to the priesthood and religious life here
in America is so difficult and challenging, it brings hope and joy to
see the growth in our missions in Nigeria and Indonesia written about in
this newsletter. When I read the
story from my Confrere, Fr. Jaison about the work in Indonesia, I find myself hoping that
we could somehow speed up the process of preparation for the priesthood
so that more of these dedicated men can begin their ministry of helping
the people of that region. Their
needs are so compelling. I am so
very glad that we in American were able to help them by our support and
we are most committed to continuing that support with the kindness and
generosity of good friends like you.
In this part of the world, the Catholic presence desperately
needs our tangible aid and our prayers to stay strong and, with God’s
grace, growing. I know you join
with me in praying for our missions around the world.
May the witness our Missionaries give of the love present in the
Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary inspire those they serve to a deeper
love of God.
May the peace
and love of Christ fill your hearts,
Father John, M.SS.CC.
